The Actuarial Analyst will support senior analysts and managers within the General Insurance Actuarial team. This involves using statistical models to analyze data and calculate the probability and costs associated with certain events.

Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Analysis: Collect data from various sources, verify its accuracy, and reconcile it against credible sources
• Ensure all data is signed off before use
• Actuarial Modeling: Assist in developing and monitoring actuarial models to ensure they are fit for purpose
• Insights and Reporting: Generate standard reports by extracting and combining data
• Regularly validate and monitor results against actuals
• Model Deployment and Testing: Develop processes to monitor model performance under the guidance of the technical manager
• Improvement / Innovation: Support the implementation of process improvements and ensure data processes are continuously updated
• Operational Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulatory standards, adhering to the Actuarial Society of South Africa's standards
• Personal Capability Building: Participate in training and development activities to maintain technical skills

Qualifications

• Bachelors / Honours degree in Actuarial Science or similar (Essential) Qualified or making good progression toward Actuarial qualification (Essential) Actuarial graduate or someone with less than 2 years of work experience outside of the Short Term Insurance environment (Essential)
